Football League Cup Matches Begin in DPRK

The football league cup matches began in the DPRK on Wednesday.

Teams which took the top five places in the 2022-2023 DPRK men's and women's premier football leagues will compete with each other and decide the final ranking according to their total scores.

The men's matches will be conducted by April 25, Ryomyong, Amnokgang, Sobaeksu and Sonbong teams and the women's matches by April 25, Naegohyang, Wolmido, Pyongyang and Sobaeksu teams.

There were women's football matches between the Wolmido Team and the Sobaeksu Team and between the Naegohyang Team and the April 25 Team at Kim Il Sung Stadium on Wednesday. Wolmido and April 25 teams beat their rivals 3:2 and 5:0 respectively.

In the men's matches held on Thursday, the Sobaeksu Team beat the April 25 Team 3:1 and the Ryomyong team drew 0:0 with the Amnokgang team.
