Pyongyang Musical Instrument Factory Marks Its Founding Anniversary

The Pyongyang Musical Instrument Factory which has contributed to the development of the Juche-oriented musical art and the cultural and emotional life of the Korean people marked its 70th founding anniversary.

President Kim Il Sung planned to create a base producing musical instruments in the difficult period after the war and founded the State Musical Instrument Manufacturing Research Institute, the predecessor of the Pyongyang Musical Instrument Factory, on October 26, Juche 42 (1953).

Chairman Kim Jong Il visited the factory for the first time in October 1962 and said that only when we develop the national musical instruments, the socialist national culture and art can be brought into bloom and Juche be established in the musical instrument production.

He took all measures for specializing and modernizing the musical instrument production and led the factory to put an end to the production of conventional musical instruments and produce world-level musical instruments.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un led the factory to make a leap forward and innovations as required by the new century of Juche.

Under the wise guidance and great care of the peerlessly great men, the Pyongyang Musical Instrument Factory has turned into a leading musical instrument production base and made a tangible contribution to developing the country's music and art and improving the people's cultural and emotional life.

During the period, the factory won the title of the Thrice Three-Revolution Red Flag, the Twice No. 26 Model Machine Prize and the title of model sci-tech learning space and many officials and employees were awarded high state commendations.
