Monumental Edifices, Fruit of Love for People

 

The ground-breaking ceremony for the second-stage construction project in the Hwasong area, the project for building 10 000 flats in Pyongyang in 2023, took place on February 15.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un attended the ceremony and pressed the blast button signalling the ground-breaking.

Thus, the sound of the third blasting for the building of 10 000 flats reverberated in the capital city of the DPRK.

All the miraculous creations built on this land are precious entities brought about by Kim Jong Un who wants to pluck even a star from the sky if it is what the people want and wait for.

At the Eighth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea held in January Juche 110 (2021) he set forth the task of basically settling the issue of dwelling houses for Pyongyang citizens by concentrating efforts on the construction of 50 000 flats during the period under review, and the Second Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Party Central Committee took practical measures to unconditionally complete the construction of 10 000 flats in the Songsin and Songhwa area.

At the meeting, Kim Jong Un issued an order of President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea on completing 50 000 flats in the capital city at the highest possible level. And he delivered a meaningful speech at the ground-breaking ceremony for the project to build 10 000 flats in the Songsin and Songhwa area. He also gave detailed instructions on the overall construction, including the issue of changing the elevation of dwelling houses to meet the modern aesthetic taste and setting the height of buildings differently while linking platform storeys thickly and the issue of constructing an overhead bridge in the form of a building crossing the road.

As a result, Songhwa Street, the first entity in the construction project for 50 000 flats in Pyongyang set forth at the Eighth Party Congress, was successfully built in April 2022.

Last year, the Pothong Riverside Terraced Houses District was built in a fine location in downtown Pyongyang apart from the construction of 10 000 flats in the city.

The layout of the riverside terraced houses district, the first of its kind in the country, was arranged in a unique and scientific way. It is also associated with the boundless love for the people and the world of creation of Kim Jong Un who put his heart and soul into creating advanced models in succession and provide the people with a new civilization.

The completion of the terraced houses district set a standard and model of terraced houses district in the country where buildings and nature are fused, living space and ecological space are arranged organically and scientifically and plastic arts, artistry, practicability and convenience are ensured at the highest possible level. And it opened up a prospect for creating a construction method using the accidented land surface conditions intact to suit the specific conditions of the mountainous country and generalizing it throughout the country.

Now the construction of 10 000 flats in the Hwasong area, the second project for attaining the long-term goal of house building in Pyongyang, is nearing completion.

In February last year, Kim Jong Un participated in the ground-breaking ceremony for the project to build 10 000 flats in the Hwasong area and ardently called for waging a vigorous struggle for Pyongyang and for bringing earlier the happy day when our parents, brothers, sisters and children would move into new flats in the dramatically-transformed Hwasong area, and energetically led the gigantic project for building another new street of the people in the capital city.

The great devotion he showed to provide the people with a cradle of happiness is evidenced by the 1 234 mock-ups of houses over which he gave guidance for 10 000 flats in the Hwasong area.

The completion of the second-stage 10 000 flats in the Hwasong area, a new street with over 4 000 flats in the Sopho area and a large Kangdong Greenhouse Farm will enable the citizens to enjoy a happy life in a more civilized living conditions.
