Loving Care for Peasants Shown by Great Men

The Wonhwa Co-op Farm in Phyongwon County, South Phyongan Province of the DPRK, is a farm which registered President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il as its honorary farmers.

President Kim Il Sung visited the farm for the first time in spring of Juche 41 (1952) when the Fatherland Liberation War (1950-1953) was at its height. At that time, he sowed seeds of grain together with peasants and presented a bright blueprint for agricultural cooperativization. From that time on, he gave field guidance to the farm on scores of occasions.

When an agricultural cooperative was organized there after the war, the President made sure that his name was recorded at the head of the list of cooperative members, saying that he would be active as a member of this cooperative. For scores of years he had visited the farm to guide its operation and acquaint himself with the farmers' living conditions and worked heart and soul for its development.

In March 1983 Chairman Kim Jong Il saw to it that his name was registered at the list of members of this co-op farm, saying that he would become a honorary member of it as the President did. The Chairman visited the farm more than 10 times to turn it into a fertile land for the peasants' wellbeing.

So, the farm has saved the shares of the President and the Chairman in cash every year on the basis of per-farmer average share.

In autumn of 1993, the President saw to it that vehicles and farm machines were provided to the farm with his share in cash.

The agricultural workers of the farm presented the grain and money, shares of the President and the Chairman, in November 2018. True to the noble intention of the President and the Chairman, Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un showed warm love for the farm by making sure that the grain was distributed to its peasants and trucks and tractors were purchased with the money and sent to it.

That's why the peasants of the farm have said that their wish is to hold the Supreme Leader in high esteem as its honorary farmer.
