Excellent Fine Art Heritages of Korean Nation (1)

Among the fine art pieces showing the brilliant culture and tradition of the Korean nation intensively is "Picture of Peasants' Life" drawn by U Jin Ho, a painter of the 19th century.

The ten-folded picture consists of paintings titled "Enjoying Full Moon", "Plowing", "Weeding", "Starching Cotton Yarn", "Landlord's House", "Peasant and Aristocrat", "Distinct Life", "Thrashing", "Ferry" and "Hunting".

It shows a custom of enjoying full moon on the January 15th of the lunar calendar, a folk holiday of the Korean nation, farming processes according to seasons and peasants' features.

It shows a part of the development of Korean painting in the 19th century.
